BuildingSage: A safe and secure AI copilot for smart buildings

The dawn of Generative AI is promising to deliver various benefits across all walks of life, including the built environment sector. While there are many opportunities, sharing proprietary and sensitive data with large generative AI models is seen as a risk when adopting them at the enterprise level. This paper introduces a privacy-preserving AI copilot architecture to facilitate the adoption of smart building technologies and tools while mitigating data privacy concerns. We demonstrate how the proposed AI copilot can effectively assist users in interacting with smart building systems, ensuring enhanced privacy and fostering broader adoption.
