Since the inception of the Internet of Things (IoT) concept, the research community has concentrated on devising efficient communication and data analysis methods for the multitude of devices connected to the Internet. However, current efforts have fallen short in adequately addressing the requirements and challenges posed by IoT. In recent years, technologies such as Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Network Function Virtualization (NFV), and edge computing have not only impacted traditional networks but have also influenced IoT environments. A primary concern revolves around ensuring the quality of services delivered by IoT devices. To address this, characteristics like decoupling data and control planes, virtualizing network functions, advanced data analysis capabilities, and facilitating the proximity of services are deemed promising. This paper introduces an architecture that integrates SDN and NFV tailored for IoT environments, accompanied by a proof of concept aimed at improving service quality. The experiment leverages the capabilities of the controller to dynamically modify Quality of Experience (QoE) and Quality of Service (QoS) flows through the configuration of an SDN-App in real time.
