Lightning arrester is one of the important equipment of the power system, and the performance of its advantages and disadvantages of the safe operation of the power grid plays a great influence. In the long-term operation of the voltage and other external environmental factors under the influence of the role of the line arrester valve plate aging may lead to line arrester damage and explosion of the phenomenon occurs, transmission line arrester currently used in the regular preventive test. There is a time limit and operational difficulties and other issues. Therefore, online monitoring of various operational parameters of transmission line surge arresters is particularly important. This paper proposes a real-time monitoring technology based on the leakage current and lightning current measurement of the full operational status of the surge arrester. This paper evaluates the moisture and aging status of the line arrester through the leakage current of the line arrester. Lightning strikes through the surge arrester impact current and the number of peak reflects the remaining life of the surge arrester and whether the need for preventive testing. The number of impact small current can provide valuable scientific basis for lightning protection and lightning accident analysis. The research results of this paper are of great significance in improving the fault prevention and accident analysis ability of the whole network, and conducive to improving the level of lightning protection of transmission lines and reducing the number of tripping of lightning strikes on transmission lines by transmission line operation and management departments, which will have great application value and market prospect.
