Fortifying Oximeter Data Protection: Safeguarding with Frodokem and NTRU Encryption

B. Abirami, S Suvalakshmi, K. Anitha Kumari · 2024

The present study suggests a novel way to combine NTRU and FrodoKEM encryption algorithms with blockchain technology to improve the security of oximeter data in healthcare settings. These post-quantum cryptography techniques defend against threats from quantum computing by addressing flaws in conventional encryption, while blockchain ensures the integrity and transparency of data. Real-time applications in resource-constrained healthcare settings are particularly suited for FrodoKEM due to its resistance to Shor’s algorithm and NTRU’s efficiency. The encryption procedure is optimized throughout implementation to guarantee the least possible influence on oximeter performance. Blockchain technology is integrated into the system to securely record access to patient health data, ensuring transparency and auditability. Each access request and data transaction is cryptographically signed and added to an immutable ledger, protecting the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive patient health information against changing cybersecurity threats. The study demonstrates that employing FrodoKEM and NTRU encryption algorithms in conjunction with blockchain successfully secures oximeter data, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive patient health information against quantum computing threats in healthcare settings. This combined approach provides a robust solution to protect patient health data from unauthorized access and tampering, leveraging the strengths of both encryption and blockchain technologies.
