Visual Cryptography Technique for Enhancing the Security and Contrastness of Image Transaction

Sunita Kumari, Shashikant Pandey, Deepak Mishra · 2024

The goal of this paper is to use a revolutionary visual cryptography technique to improve the security and contrast of images. This method improves readability and security by enhancing contrast without adding noise to the images by utilising the sigmoid function. By improving contrast and maintaining image details, the suggested solution overcomes the drawbacks of previous approaches and works well with low contrast photos. A wide range of consumer electronics, including digital cameras, televisions, and video surveillance, depend on contrast enhancement to improve the clarity of their images. However, the majority of cutting-edge techniques result in several kinds of distortion, including noise, intensity burnout, intensity shift, wash-out, and intensity saturation. Furthermore, in consumer electronics, quick and easy ways are needed to guarantee real-time execution. An adaptive sigmoid function-based method for equalising histograms is introduced. By utilising adaptive sigmoid functions, the image histogram is divided into two portions, each of which is equalised independently. The sigmoid function settings are chosen to minimise the absolute mean brightness metric in order to preserve the mean brightness of the original image. Experiments on the Berkeley database show that this method maintains mean brightness while improving image quality.
