Chapter 7: The Poisson Problem in 2D

This chapter describes four standard numerical methods for the Poisson problem: Find u such that for domains Ω in two dimensions. The Poisson problem (7.1) is the natural analogue of the model two-point boundary value problem (6.1) to higher dimensions. Details concerning the domain Ω, its boundary ∂Ω, and the functions f and g will be provided as needed.
