Deriving the confidence interval for the cumulative number of software faults using parametric simulation

Software reliability evaluation is important. Among various methods, interval estimation is easy to feed back to flexible decision making by providing upper and lower bound. Thus, we consider the interval estimation of software reliability in this paper. The limitation of existing studies is that creating resamples for constructing the confidence interval is time-consuming. We address this problem by introducing parametric simulation methods, and we verify the effectiveness of the proposed method by analyzing real data.
