Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs) is a wireless network that has mobile nodes which do not require a central infrastructure, and can quickly acquire network without any infrastructure. These nodes move arbitrarily in the network thus changing the topology frequently. The delivery of prioritized messages in Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs) typically poses challenges stemming from node mobility, congestion, and packet loss, which adversely affects Quality of Service (QoS). This study focuses on prioritizing and transmitting messages to enhance various QoS metrics such as throughput, energy efficiency, packet delivery ratio, and routing overhead ratio. It achieves this by integrating the AOMDV (Ad Hoc On-Demand Multipath Distance Vector) routing algorithm with a Genetic Algorithm (GA) known as HAOMDV (Hybrid AOMDV). The HAOMDV algorithm is adjusted to improve the path selection process through GA, and AOMDV considering evolving priorities and network conditions. Simulation experiments in Network Simulator-3 (NS-3) shows the efficacy of the algorithm in meeting prioritization goals and optimizing performance under different network conditions.
