The majority of image and video compression standards depend on the DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform) due of it is superior features of energy compression. Its increasing requests for videotape messaging & 2-way videotape transmission in contrast to cell-phone transmission networks necessitate optimization of the encoding complexity. Since the 3D-DCT (Three-Dimensional Discrete Cosine Transform) expands the capability of spatial compression of the Two Dimensional-Discrete Cosine Transform to the reduction of video data both spatially and temporally, it can be utilized as a substitute for motion-compensated transform coding. A 3D-DCT-based low-complexity video encoder has been shown in the suggested architecture. The video data is converted into a three-dimensional video cube of 8x8x8 pixels using this method. subsequently, Three-Dimensional Discrete Cosine Transform is carried out followed by quantization, entropy encoding& zig-zag scanning. The area efficiency can be increased with minimal complexity by realizing the 3D-DCT circuit with few additions and subtractions.
