Simulating the Local Universe
Sergey Pilipenko · 2024
The Local Universe is defined as the region within a radius of about 100 Mpc around our Galaxy. Being the most extensively studied region, it is of great interest to cosmologists. Research on the Local Universe allows us to answer questions about our understanding of the structure of the Universe, whether we can explain the observed variety of o©ects within it, and how typical our closest environment is. This lecture discusses one of the ways to address these questions: numerical modeling of the Local Universe.
