Model-Based Forward Design Method for Support System
Zhiyu Jia, Dongni Dong, Zhaoyang Zeng, Yang Zhou, Yan Zhou · 2023
To address the issue of “two skins” between the model-based support system and military aircraft development within the emerging MBSE development paradigm, this article methodically outlines techniques for the requirement analysis, architectural design, and verification and evaluation of military aircraft support systems rooted in modeling. These techniques follow a “requirements-design-verification” trajectory. Specifically, the paper introduces a modeling method for aviation equipment support capability, employing the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DODAF) technology to facilitate forward generation of requirements. Additionally, the article advocates a theoretical approach for forward design of the support system architecture, utilizing an axiomatic design process framework in conjunction with model-based system design methods. Targeting both quantitative and qualitative requirements of the support system, verification and evaluation methods are delineated, leveraging a simulation model of support effectiveness and an evaluation criterion model. The article concludes with a case study that substantiates the efficacy of the aforementioned techniques. This study thus offers both theoretical and methodological foundations for the scientifically informed forward design of aviation equipment support systems under the new development paradigm.
