Archan Mitra, Sayani Das · 2024
This article explores the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI)-powered wireless communication in environmental monitoring, with a specific emphasis on radio frequency-Pose (RF-Pose) technology. RF-Pose, a technology created by Massachusetts institute of technology computer science and artificial intelligence laboratory (MIT CSAIL), utilizes AI to analyze wireless signals in order to detect and understand human movement. This has the potential to be applied in wildlife tracking and monitoring. The study investigates the advantages of using drones to collect environmental data, particularly in inaccessible regions. It also provides case studies on wildlife conservation, such as the monitoring of chimpanzees, elephants, and sea turtles. The text also addresses the difficulties pertaining to data privacy, security, and ethical considerations. In general, RF-Pose technology shows potential for enhancing environmental monitoring and wildlife conservation and emphasizing the importance of using technology in a responsible and ethical manner.
