In sonar application, switching amplifiers can be used to drive the transducer. Considering the high efficiency, switching amplifiers are ideal for sonar transducer applications because they can deliver high power without generating excessive heat. A modular switching amplifier (SA) is presented that was built and designed to drive a specific acoustic transducer with 400 kHz resonance frequency. The cascaded configuration is intended to render the modularity feature, enabling the connection of two or more individual SA resulting in programmable power ratings, Isolation between inverters and transducers is ensured using a high-frequency transformer. The amplifier needs an impedance matching network (IMN) to efficiently transfer power from the source to the load and limit output total harmonic distortion (THD). Design of IMN ensures the required voltage gain of the amplifier, meet peak power demand of 500W from two low-voltage source of 48 VDC. The simulation and experimental findings demonstrate that the developed amplifier, when used in an inductive configuration, results in significantly lower power losses. The parallel RLC has set the amplifier's voltage gain to 2.55, producing 620 W peak output, a sinusoidal waveform at 400 kHz with 3.1 % THD.
