Based on the introduction and discussion of the previous chapters, Chapter 4 summarizes all the diachronic sound change of initials, rhyme groups, and tones from the pre-Qin period, West Han dynasty, East Han dynasty, Southern and Northern dynasties Period, Sui–Tang dynasties, Five Dynasties period, Song dynasty, Yuan dynasty, Ming–Qing dynasty, and modern times. The initial includes 7 tables, the rhyme group includes 29 tables, and the tone includes 1 table.
