From Documentation to Automatic IPs Generation and Validation

Serge Christian Ibala, Chee Yoong Tan Lee · 2024

The purpose of this work is to generate a software that will reduce IP integration time from several months to few weeks. Intellectual property (IP) Integration is a critical and intricate process in the realm of innovation and technology development. However, the complexity and the size of IPs requires meticulous attention to detail, leaving room for human errors that can have significant implication for an organization’s competitive advantage and market position. To address this challenge, this work enhances our previous work on Software Driven Approach (SDA) that harnesses automation in the IP generation and integration process and provide multiple checks (CDC and LINT) in this new release to validate IPs. To evaluate the effectiveness of our approach we conducted a comparative study between the SDA and traditional manual IP integration methods. The results demonstrate that the SDA significantly reduces the occurrence of human errors. Furthermore, our SDA exhibits notable gains in efficiency, substantially reducing the time-to-market for new innovations.
