Quantum Technologies and Cybersecurity

Chuck Brooks · 2024

The development of quantum computers poses a serious threat to data security. Quantum computers have the potential to constitute geopolitical threats due to their superior speed and accuracy over classical computers. Additionally, the same computational power that makes it possible to tackle complicated problems can also be used to compromise cybersecurity. Quantum computers can break the techniques used by traditional computers to generate random numbers, which poses a serious risk to any organization that uses standard encryption tools. There are a variety of solutions coming together in quantum tech. A company called Quantum Computing Inc. (QCI) aims to speed up the supply of quantum information processing hardware devices that offer cybersecurity and performance advantages. With full connectivity between variables, QCI's Entropy Quantum Computer technology is specifically designed to tackle real-world optimization issues at a scale of 11,000 qubits.
