Revolutionizing Healthcare IoT: A Low-Energy Connectivity Paradigm

Navodit Bhardwaj, Pallavi Joshi, Pooja Rani · 2023

IoT-enabled cloud computing and interactive applications highlight their impact on re-imagining healthcare services. While these systems offer remote monitoring and support for patients, there hasn't been enough focus on making healthcare more heterogeneous. The creation of a hardware testbed using development kits due to the limited availability of devices is much needed in smart applications. Hence, a network architecture that automates smart healthcare with cloud services and emphasizes on cost-effectiveness is proposed in this article based on a very new connectivity protocol called “MATTER”. It is an opensource connectivity standard that aims to increase compatibility among smart home products operating on any network likes Wi-Fi, Thread, and Ethernet. Additionally, it integrates emerging technologies like security in connectivity and Blockchain for device certification. Some parameters resulting from a patient's health checkup were examined to test the effectiveness of this protocol.
