In this chapter, the emerging paradigm of distributed cloud and edge-enabled networked healthcare systems are explored. With the proliferation of connected devices, the Internet of Things (IoT), and the need for real-time data processing, healthcare organizations are increasingly adopting distributed computing architectures that leverage cloud and edge technologies. A comprehensive overview of the concepts, architectures, technologies, and applications of distributed cloud and edge-enabled networked healthcare systems is illustrated. The distributed data storage and processing, edge computing infrastructure, network connectivity, data security, privacy, and regulatory considerations have been explored. The case studies and practical examples are also illustrated for the implementation and benefits of these systems in healthcare settings.
