The Internet of Things (IoT) has transformed the way devices interact with each other, creating new opportunities for businesses to streamline operations and offer better services. The cloud has emerged as a key platform for IoT, providing a scalable and flexible infrastructure for data storage, processing, and analytics. This chapter explores the concept of Cloud IoT and its functionality, discussing the advantages and challenges of this emerging technology. Cloud IoT facilitates the ability to handle large volumes of data, making it possible to analyze and derive insights that can inform business decisions. However, implementing Cloud IoT comes with its own set of challenges, including data security and privacy concerns, interoperability issues, and the need for reliable connectivity. The chapter also discusses the various attacks on Cloud IoT and highlights the importance of lightweight cryptography in securing Cloud IoT systems. Lightweight cryptography is preferred for Cloud IoT due to its low overhead and high efficiency, making it well-suited for resource-constrained devices. Overall, this chapter provides a comprehensive overview of Cloud IoT, its advantages, challenges, and security considerations, highlighting the need for robust security measures to ensure the safety and privacy of IoT devices and their users.
