Electronic Health Record (EHR) are computerised versions of physical records which include details regarding a patient health details, treatments undergone, prescription drugs, details of immunizations, allergic reactions, radiological snaps, and lab test outcomes. Several studies are being conducted to improve the privacy, confidentiality, integrity, profitability, and accessibility of Electronic Health Records through different aspects of patient's data security. However, a lot of hospital might adopt EHRs at a relatively low rate due to concerns about patient information security and privacy. One of the primary challenges of EHR is protecting a huge quantity of sensitive health data in multiple formats and locations. In recent years, blockchain technology has witnessed a significant increase in the safeguarding of patient health information. By generating a secured record of all transactions and data modifications, blockchain confirms preserves the integrity and immutableness of EHR. This research proposes a potential approach to enhance blockchain data integrity by using the cryptographic hashing technique Secure Hash Algorithm 3 (SHA-3). Fixed-size hash values generated by SHA-3 provide enhanced security and resilience against specific cryptographic attacks. To ensure health data integrity and prevent unauthorized manipulation of EHR records, our approach incorporates a private blockchain named Corda. In comparison with other hashing technique in Hyperledger Fabric, it ensures integrity of the Electronic health record and higher throughput as well as better performance in processing transactions.
