Background Study: Multi-page applications (MPA) are those that power individual pages or views in a given app or website. Numerous such MPA’s constitute the entire website experience of large scale websites such as eBay Inc., or Amazon. Multi-page application (MPA) architectures, pose challenges in the reliable delivery of critical cross functional UX modules (known as horizontal modules) across the various pages of a given platform. Problem Statement: The reliability aspects of such services is two fold. First aspect of reliability involves whether the UX module was delivered in time, to be displayed at the requisite UX markers for the end user to view, or did the end user miss it and scroll past the UX marker, because the response did not arrive on time. If the user missed this, what better UX patterns can the existing data be transformed and fit into, to reliably convey the message to the end user. The second aspect of reliability involves in not impacting the core vital metrics of the page where the cross functional UX is rendered into. This paper explores solutions - architectures and methodologies that solve this problem, ensuring reliable surfacing of cross functional and critical UX, that are delivered in time, without impacting the core vitals of the MPA pages, while enhancing end user experience and delivering on business metrics. Proposed Model/Technique: This paper visits a set of techniques for addressing these concerns based on impression tracking measurements. Results: The paper evaluates those techniques highlighting their effectiveness in enhancing the reliability of such systems.
