The architecture of ubiquitous wireless network takes energy efficiency and security very seriously. Due to the battery operation of the nodes in ubiquitous wireless networks, it is crucial to find a way to reduce energy consumption and increase the lifetime of the network. In this paper, a new clustering technique, Squirrel optimization algorithm (SOA)with Blockchain (BC) is introduced to provide a secure data transfer in wireless networks and also energy consumption is reduced. This method undergoes node initialization using SOA approach for cluster head selection. Then blockchain is applied for the secure data transfer. Results of other existing approaches are compared and evaluate the experimental validation of the SOA-BLC technique using relevant metrics. The proposed system delivered better performance in terms of throughput, life time, packet delivery ratio, and energy consumption when compared with FA, BAT, and GWO algorithm.
