This research study intends to transform communication for individuals with speech impairments by developing an innovative Indian Sign Language (ISL) to speech converter. The proposed wearable glove-based system empowers users to express themselves verbally, bridging the gap between sign language and spoken language. The glove is embedded with pushbuttons connected to an Arduino Uno microcontroller, which detects and interprets hand gestures. The Arduino UNO generates text corresponding to the detected movements, leveraging its programming capabilities. The generated text is then fed into a Python-based text-to-speech (TTS) system, which synthesizes natural-sounding speech. This integrated approach enables seamless conversion of ISL gestures into spoken language, facilitating effective communication. The project's successful implementation demonstrates the potential to transform the lives of individuals with speech disabilities, enhancing their social interactions, participation, and overall well-being. The ISL to Speech Converter project showcases the power of combining cutting-edge technologies like Arduino and Python to address real-world challenges, promoting inclusivity and accessibility. By providing a user-friendly and wearable solution, we aim to empower individuals with speech impairments to communicate confidently and independently, breaking down barriers and fostering a more inclusive society.
