A growing number of new automobiles entering the road are rising quickly, which leads to extremely congested roads. Few drivers disobey traffic laws by running red lights because they can wait so long. Due to the significant increase in traffic accidents caused by this, it is crucial to automatically identify vehicles that have violated the signal. IoT-based traffic violation detection systems can send information regarding offending automobiles to the relevant traffic law place automatically, allowing for immediate punishment of the offending vehicle. The proposed system could be implemented by utilizing an already installed vehicle ID card. If a vehicle moves forward while a red light is on, vehicle information such as the registration number, type of vehicle (two-wheeler, car, auto, truck, etc.), owner’s name, vehicle color, and so on can be automatically sent to the relevant authorities via concerned mobile phones. All vehicles must be outfitted with these low-cost wireless ID cards so that vehicle data can be continuously transmitted to demonstrate the concept practically. The demonstration module includes a mock road and a miniature automatic traffic signal post. The system is set up so that if any vehicles cross zebra lines while the red signal is activated and during this time, the system will receive this information and transmit it via a Wi-Fi module. Nearby traffic police will be notified right away if anyone disregards the traffic signal. Because it regrets collecting vehicle data while there are yellow and green signals, the main processing unit must be installed close to traffic signals. One model car that will have a wireless ID card is included in the demo module.
