An SIE Formulation with Cut-Set Analysis for Impedance Extraction of Real-Life Circuits

A surface integral equation (SIE) incorporated with the cut set analysis is developed to extract impedance of real-life circuits. By interpreting all quantities in the electromagnetic domain as circuit elements, a three-dimensional equivalent circuit for arbitrarily-shaped circuits is generated. The Kirchhoff's current law (KCL) is then enforced by the cut-set analysis and currents in the circuit are efficiently solved through the pre-corrected fast Fourier Transform (pFFT). Numerical results show that the proposed formulation can accurately model complex real-life circuits.
