An Investigation into Use of Ethereum Blockchain Technology to Validate the Reliability and Quality of Stored Satellite Images
Lince Mathew, Hamid Jahankhan, Sumesh Singh Dadwal · 2024
The number of uses for satellite imagery has increased dramatically in recent years. Therefore, for precise analysis and decision-making, assuring the dependability and quality of archived satellite photos is essential. The application of Ethereum blockchain technology to verify the dependability and quality of saved satellite photos is explored in this research. The use of the Ethereum blockchain for satellite image validation is examined in several papers and projects. These attempts establish an unchangeable record of satellite image metadata, including acquisition time, location, and processing stages, using smart contracts and blockchain-based timestamping algorithms. One of the main benefits of blockchain-based systems for building trust among stakeholders is their transparency and auditability. Overall, this research offers insightful information about using Ethereum blockchain technology to verify the accuracy and caliber of saved satellite photos. It demonstrates how blockchain technology could improve data integrity, trust, and accountability while also recognizing the difficulties that still need to be overcome before it can be widely adopted. The findings lay a platform for further investigation in this developing sector and add to the body of currently known knowledge.
