PyMCNP is a Python-based software toolkit designed to facilitate and automate the writing, reading, and running of input and output files of the widely-used radiation transport code Monte Carlo N-Particle (MCNP). Some of its features include reading a variety of output tallies including ptrac output files and the ability to easily extract ptrac data, reading standard information output tables, creating material cards from chemical formulas and mixture of elements, writing and automating complex source definitions, visualizing geometry including rotations and transformations, executing runs in parallel using computer clusters and/or multiple cores in a single CPU, etc. The repository will be made open source and publicly available before the start of the conference. We will present some of its capabilities and discuss the future of pyMCNP.
