Possible ways of obtaining large thin discs or discs of hard-to-deform materials by plastic deformation on existing equipment of relatively low power are considered. As a result of comparison with forging upsetting and straightening, as a more promising method that requires further in-depth research, the method of sectional forging was chosen, which provides for the shape change of the workpiece by sequential plastic deformation of its individual parts.
