In the transmission of 360-degree panoramic video, the utilization of Scalable Video Coding (SVC) and caching technology provides an opportunity to significantly conserve network resources and minimize transmission delays. Meanwhile, the Information-Centric Networking (ICN) network disrupts the traditional Internet communication mode based on host communication. Leveraging its inherent features, including content name-based routing, ubiquitous caching, and multicast, the ICN network offers substantial advantages for large-scale video distribution. This paper proposes a SVC-oriented FoV-Aware Probabilistic Caching (SFPC) strategy for 360-degree videos. It strategically coordinates the utilization of available resources along the cache path nodes. This coordination facilitates caching decisions, taking into account both the viewport information of the video chunk and its SVC level. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed strategy not only improves hit rates and video quality compared to various baseline algorithms but also reduces playback stalls and the duration of re-buffering.
