This paper proposes a usability testing methodology for consumer electronics products and presents a real usability experience focused on a new feature for digital TV (DTV) receivers: the presentation of advertising content created with an application running on a smartphone. It began with a detailed planning, which defined test objectives, identified areas to be evaluated, and established usability metrics. During test execution, participants interacted with the target system while evaluators observed their behavior and collected feedback. The analysis of the resulting data led to the identification of usability issues. This process was essential to ensure that the system composed of the DTV receiver and the smartphone application effectively met user needs and provided a high-quality experience.
