A Primer Study on Digital Hoarding Behavior in Cloud Storage
Yi-Ting Huang, Yu‐Chen Chen · 2024
This study explored digital hoarding behavior facilitated by cloud storage services, focusing on accumulation and emotional attachment. Through a survey of 222 users, emotional attachment was found to significantly influence the hoarding of personal files. Younger users tended to open new accounts while older users preferred purchasing additional space. The middle-aged group showed higher file accumulation and willingness to buy more cloud space, which reflected consistency between demand and investment. These findings deepen our understanding of digital hoarding behavior and provide valuable insights for related industries.
