In real-world networks, generalized synchronization relation between two networks is usually difficult to get. Meanwhile, multi-layer complex dynamical networks exist widely in society and engineering. In this paper, the generalized synchronization problem for multi-layer complex dynamical networks with unknown parameters is studied. First, an auxiliary network is constructed with the same node dynamics and topology as the response network. Second, based on the auxiliary system method, the synchronization strategy and the parameter updating laws are designed for generalized synchronization. Third, the Lyapunov theory is used to prove the stability of the error system and some sufficient conditions are obtained to achieve generalized synchronization. Finally, numerical simulations are further provided to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.
