Edge markets for the usage of data and digital assets: the Dataswyft data wallet
Irene C. L. Ng · IET conference proceedings. · 2024
This paper reports on the creation of the Dataswyft Data Wallet Technology – a technology that could coordinate the market for data computation and usage at the edge. It argues that the failure of centralised systems to unlock the value of data can be resolved by relocating its usage and portability to the edge. The paper reports on the work to create 3 edge markets for discoverability, validation and transfers and present the findings. The findings propose that a market coordinating intermediary, a data wallet, is necessary to emerge the edge market. The paper concludes with the transformation potential for firms to enter edge markets and policy implications.
