Brown bears frequently appear in populated areas in Qinghai Province, causing property losses and personal safety threats to herdsmen. As brown bears are nationally-protected animals, in order to drive them away without taking lethal measures, this paper adopts a surveillance camera deployed near the herdsmen's house to monitor the activities of brown bears in Guoluo, Qinghai Province, and establishes a data set by taking a large number of pictures of brown bears in the zoo and collecting pictures of brown bears on the Internet. By training the reliability of the algorithm with a large amount of data, the image recognition algorithm is used to identify the brown bear and issue an early warning to the herdsmen and the background personnel of the system to remind the herdsmen to take countermeasures. The human-bear conflict early warning system has been strongly supported by local communication operators and public security personnel. After the implementation of the first phase of the project, the expected results have been achieved, and local herdsmen have a high degree of satisfaction with the system.[1]
