Signal Processing in Frequency Domain
K. C. Raveendranathan · 2024
Processing of Signals with respect to their frequency characteristics is the subject matter of this chapter. Although signals processing of signals can be done in the time domain, we restrict our discussion to signal processing in frequency domain. Examples for time domain signal processing are the functioning of digital circuits such as counters, multiplexers, and so on. We discuss several transforms like, Laplace, Fourier, Z, discrete cosine/sine, Hilbert, Karhunen Loeve (KL), Hough, Hankel, Short Time Fourier Transform (STFT), and wavelet. The inverse transforms of these forward transforms are also discussed. The region of convergence (ROC), and the system stability based on the location of poles and zeros, are also considered.
