Modeling Innovative Thermal Power Generation Systems for the Energy Transition with Modelica: an Open Source and Flexible Solution
Matteo Luigi De Pascali, Francesco Casella · 2024
In this work, the authors address the challenges of modeling innovative thermal power generation systems in the energy transition context. Their peculiar designs and components call for a more flexible modeling environment. In this respect, Modelica language has emerged in the last years as a solid and reliable choice to model such power plants. Through the description of the SOS-CO2cycle Modelica model, the strength of this approach is presented, showing the capabilities of a free and open-source software compared to closed-source commercial solutions.
