Blockchain for Edge Association in Digital Twin Empowered 6G Networks

C. Fancy, M. Anand, T. M. Sheeba · 2024

Edge intelligence applications such as the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and healthcare implementation have been accelerated by cutting-edge technologies such as digital twins, blockchain, and 6G communication networks. By integrating digital twin, blockchain, and 6G technology, physical systems are linked to the digital realm, enabling instantaneous and robust wireless communication. The potential implementation of this integration in critical environments is being considered in light of increasing concerns regarding factors such as data privacy and scalability. Insufficient resources, unreliable communication connections, and user skepticism hinder the effective execution of this integration within the IIoT. This chapter makes use of digital twin communication networks, which involve the relocation of processing real-world data and computation to the periphery layer through the integration of digital twin, blockchain, and edge computing into the 6G networks. Enhanced data privacy and system dependability are additional benefits of this integration for collaborative computing. This field offers numerous research prospects in the areas of digital twin collaborations, bulk-sized input data, and bandwidth usage in order to strike a balance between time cost and learning accuracy in the proposed system.
