Chin‐Feng Lee, Ting-Yu Kang, Iuon‐Chang Lin · 2024

With the rapid development of the Internet, the issue of information security has become increasingly crucial. This study aims to utilize data hiding technology to safeguard confidential information from attacks. This paper focuses on the dual-image reversible data hiding technique and proposes a method based on the concepts of vector directions and diagonal embedding of secret messages. The results show that a good balance between embedding capacity and image quality is achieved under different parameter settings. For instance, at an embedding capacity of 1.44 bpp, the PSNR value is approximately 31.28 dB, while at an embedding capacity of 0.5 bpp, the PSNR value reaches 50.65 dB. The innovative method proposed in this study holds promise for providing new possibilities in the field of data hiding, contributing to the development of techniques for information protection in the future. In addition, the method of this study also has potential for application in the medical field. This implies that the study can be applied to safeguard confidential information in medical images, ensuring patient privacy and fostering opportunities for innovative developments in related industries.
