Most importantly, we can imagine an environment where thousands of AI supercomputers will be connected to billions of AI client devices over a global network. In this situation, AI SW/HW technologies will be viewed as another set of new communications networking technologies. It implies that we need to use the Open Standard Interconnection (OSI) model that provides the seven-layered protocol architecture for AI software and hardware technologies. The OSI model is developed by the International Standard Organization (ISO). The ISO/OSI Protocol Layer Model of Architecture [ 1 ] has ushered a revolutionary mechanism for providing interoperability among all functional entities connected across the network in multi-vendor products and services based on standards. Rightly, OSI Model has provided options for creating value-added new innovative products and services in the application (Layer 7) for fostering competitions.
