The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is an innovative technology that integrates industrial automation and the Internet of Things (IoT) systems. The IIoT technology has several advanced features, such as advanced sensing, integrated transmission, intelligent processing, self-organization, and self-maintenance capabilities. These features make the IIoT a valuable technology in various fields, such as intelligent transportation, smart factories, power grids, and environmental detection. However, the increasing use of IIoT technology has also increased cybersecurity risks, making information security a significant challenge in development. This chapter aims to explore the information security protection technology of IIoT and the typical architecture of IIoT systems and analyze the network security threats these systems face at different levels of the architecture. The IIoT architecture consists of several layers: perception, network, platform, and application. Every layer has unique security requirements, and the security protection strategies must be tailored accordingly. Based on the analysis of the IIoT architecture and the security threats, we propose various security protection strategies for different levels of structures according to the specifications. The proposed strategies would help to mitigate the risks and increase the security of the IIoT systems, making them safer and more reliable.
