Assessing the Security Posture of Mobile Automated Fingerprint Identification Systems (MABIS): A Comprehensive Analysis for Enhanced Resilience
William Penaflor Rey · 2024
The rapid evolution of Mobile Automated Biometric Identification Systems (MABIS) presents both opportunities and challenges in ensuring robust security measures. This study employs a multi-faceted approach, combining the assessments from Qualys SSL Labs, CryptCheck, and ImmuniWeb, to comprehensively analyze the current security posture of MABIS. The results showcase commendable cryptographic foundations, industry-standard compliance, and a clean online presence. However, areas for improvement, such as SSL/TLS configuration, have been identified. The synthesis of findings aims to provide a holistic view, offering actionable insights for enhancing MABIS's resilience against evolving cybersecurity challenges. This research contributes to the broader understanding of security assessment tools' effectiveness and provides valuable recommendations for fortifying the security posture of biometric identification systems in the mobile domain.
