Three Decades of Recommendations Systems in Vehicular Ad Hoc Network

A recommender system helps the decision-making system be at ease for the end user, to enhance user experience as the solution for the information explosion problem. Recommendation has gained a lot of attention from various researcher over the past few decades, but still it faces issues and challenges. In this work, the problems, and their solution, related to recommendation are discussed. Cold start and sparsity problem are among those challenges that need to be handled to make accurate recommendation. User personalization is an important factor of recommendation that helps enhance user acceptance. This chapter also discusses various approaches that have been suggested in literature to improve the accuracy of the presented recommendation. A neural network has been proven as an approach that improves the accuracy of the presented recommendation.
