Derek H.T. Walker, Peter E.D. Love, Mark Betts · 2024

Integrated project delivery (IPD), particularly alliancing, is likely to effectively deliver superior project value outcomes compared to many traditional approaches – e.g., Design and Construct (D&C) – because integrating the project owner representative, design team(s), delivered facility operator and delivery team(s) leads to higher levels of unified collaboration focused on a best-for-project outcome. This focus helps the project initiator’s output requirement expectations being met. This holds for many IPD/Alliances. However, ineffective team integration may inhibit collaboration quality.
