Exploring Metaverse Dynamics in Supply Chain: A Bibliometric Analysis

This extensive bibliometric analysis delves into the influence of the metaverse on supply chain management (SCM). The primary aim of the research was to discern prevailing trends, prominent themes, relevant affiliations, influential countries, and critical authors. The study focused on 232 articles from the Scopus database. Results unveiled a recent upsurge in publications, with prevalent themes revolving around Augmented Reality, the metaverse, blockchain, supply chain, Virtual Reality, SCM, and computer simulation. Comparisons were made between authors' productivity and their h-index scores to determine the most impactful figures in the field. Additionally, the study assessed countries' contributions in which China and the USA were the top countries in terms of total production. Ultimately, the findings offer actionable insights for researchers, educators, practitioners, and policymakers, highlighting opportunities to harness the metaverse for enhancing SCM efficiency, resilience, and sustainability.
