Security Threats and Counter Measures in the Internet of Vehicles

The Internet of Vehicles (IoV) aims toward accident prevention and traffic control. In the near future, the IoV will take over the conventional way of driving and traffic management. However, to fulfil its promise, there is dire need for a secure IoV that will allow end users to trust the novelty of the IoV. There is a dire need for work that presents security threats as well as their counter measures, as the most recent work in this regard was done in 2019. Therefore, we summarize various security threats and their counter measures in this chapter. We have also categorized the threats from various aspects. At the end of the chapter, we present potential research gaps and future work.
