GESTURE BASED COMMUNICATION USING AIML

International Research Journal of Modernization in Engineering Technology and Science · 2024

Effective communication is essential for individuals with hearing impairments, with sign language being their primary mode of expression. This project introduces an innovative approach to sign language recognition using the Template Matching Technique. The system aims to accurately interpret and translate sign language gestures into text or speech, enhancing communication accessibility for the deaf and hard of hearing.Natural disasters are unavoidable, but machine learning offers a powerful tool for researchers in geology to mitigate their impact, saving lives and reducing infrastructure costs. The proposed sign language recognition system employs Template Matching to compare input gestures with predefined templates, ensuring accurate and real-time recognition while remaining computationally efficient and adaptable to various sign language expressions. Its goal is to bridge communication gaps by providing a tool for translating sign language into text or speech, thus serving as an inclusive resource for the hearing impaired. The integration of template matching enhances the system's robustness, enabling real-time operation and fostering inclusive communication environments.By offering a reliable and adaptable solution, this project aims to significantly improve communication accessibility for the deaf and hard of hearing, promoting social inclusion and understanding.
