Cyber Attacker Profiling and Cyberbullying Overview
Wasswa Shafik · River Publishers eBooks · 2024
Because cyberbullying is more common as different devices connect to the Internet, people are becoming more interested in finding cyber attackers and planning to stop and lessen these attacks. Cyber attacker profiling has also provided an exciting way to learn about cyber attackers’ targets, goals, techniques, and behavior patterns. By analyzing the characteristics and patterns of behavior of cyber attackers, it is possible to identify potential attackers before they carry out an attack and to develop effective prevention and response strategies, for example, employee training, implementing strict access controls to limit the information available to employees based on their roles, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), intrusion detection systems (IDS), regular audits and penetration testing, and privacy settings. However, there are concerns about the ethical implications of profiling and the potential for bias and discrimination, including privacy and security balance, transparency and explainability, false positives and due process, and regulatory and legal compliance. This study depicts an overview and explores the current research on cyber attacker profiling and cyberbullying, including the challenges and opportunities associated with these approaches. In addition, the study highlights the need for further research and collaboration to develop more effective and ethical strategies for preventing and responding to cyberbullying and other types of cyber-attacks. Finally, this research provides insight into a possible path that can be taken to solve a number of the concerns. Cyber-related 126crime remains prevalent in the communication sphere, posing a significant threat to all stakeholders’ online security and privacy.
