Flash-based Computing-in-Memory (CiM) Towards Stochastic Computing with Low Power-consumption and High Noise-immunity

Flash-based In-Memory-Computing (IMC) scheme with low power-consumption and high noise-immunity is proposed to proceed with stochastic computing (SC). The logical AND function and number counter operation in the SC system are hardware implemented in individual flash memory cells and the current accumulation is processed in the array, respectively. By adopting the SC algorithm and matrix multiplexing scheme (MMS), the convolution operation is achieved with advantages in array scaling and high robustness. This work could be of great importance for developing low-power IMC systems.
