The proliferation of social media platforms has significantly increased the volume of personal data shared online, heightening concerns about data security. This paper explores how machine learning (ML) techniques can be leveraged to enhance data security in social media platforms. We analyze various ML approaches for detecting and mitigating security threats, including anomaly detection, user behavior analysis, and automated threat response. The proposed method demonstrates an accuracy of 97.6%, with a mean absolute error (MAE) of 0.403 and a root mean square error (RMSE) of 0.203. Our research includes an evaluation of several ML models, their performance in detecting data breaches, and their potential to improve security measures. The study concludes with a discussion on future directions and practical implications for implementing ML in social media security.
