Researchers have created a chaotic cryptosystem based on picture encryption because of its intriguing characteristics, including pseudo-randomness, sensitivity to the initial state, ergodicity, mixing, confusion, and diffusion. In this study, we substituted modified algebraic operations between the key and the plain image for the XOR operation, which is typically used in traditional stream encryption algorithms and most prior studies, to retrieve the cipher image with evidence of the opposite action and to decrypt the encrypted image to obtain the original image, with two layers of encryption. The Rossler chaotic system and modulo addition form the foundation of the first layer, while the Tinkerbell chaotic system and modulo multiplication form the foundation of the second. The simulation results of “Pack-Signal-to-Noise-Ratio” PSNR=7.64 dB for the encrypted pepper image based on the first layer, PSNR=7.63 dB using the second layer, and PSNR=7.617 dB for the overall system. And the key space approach is 2624 for the two encryption layers.
